Aarhus, Denmark
The School of Architecture and Planning, University at Buffalo and the School of Architecture, Arhus, Denmark, have a formal agreement outlining an exchange program for students and faculty. Students may attend classes and studio for one semester, or one year abroad, in Aarhus, while continuing to pay tuition at UB. Aarhus will provide housing at no cost to visiting UB Students. Individual courses of study are developed by faculty advisors at both institutions. Students participate in one of the ongoing studios in Aarhus. They participate in the daily activites of that studio environment and work with faculty and students there.
This is an official exchange program between the School of Architecture and Planning and the Arkitektskolen i Aarhus, Denmark. Selected students spend one semester studying at the school -- those from Denmark coming to Buffalo and our students going to Denmark. Up to four full-time exchange positions are open each year (8 semester slots). Fluency in Danish is not required.
Eligibility: Graduate and senior architecture students
Cost: Tuition is paid to the host school (UB students pay normal tuition); housing is provided for our students in Denmark; students pay airfare, food, travel, etc. In general, the expense is very similar to a semester in Buffalo.

Antwerp, Belgium
This is an exchange program between the Department of Architecture at UB and the Henry Van de Velde Instituut in Antwerp, Belgium. Students selected will spend between one semester and one year studying in Belgium with an equal number of students attending here at UB. Intensive lessons in Dutch provided.

Darmstadt, Germany
This is an exchange program between the University at Buffalo and the University of Darmstadt, Germany, provides opportunities for UB graduate or advanced undergraduate students to continue their studies through coursework, tutorials, and supervised independent study or research though affiliation with an academic program in Darmstadt. Students may apply for one semester (fall or spring) or the full academic year. UB Students accepted for the program will receive a graduate fellowship to help offset living costs. Darmstadt will provide partially subsidized living accomadations in a university residence hall; it may be possible to exchange housing arrangements with a Darmstadt student coming to UB. Life in Darmstadt is strongly influenced by the university community, which makes up about one-fifth of its nearly 100,000 residents. The university is in the city center, which offers abundant cultural and recreational resources.
This is an official exchange program between the Technische - Hochschule in Darmstadt, Germany, and the School of Architecture and Planning. Students spend one semester of one year at the exchange school. Fluency in German is required.
Eligibility: Graduate Architecture Students
Cost: Tuition paid at UB; Students pay for room, board and travel.
