Structural Design
The Department of Architecture at the University at Buffalo, State
University of New York, is seeking applicants for a tenure/tenure-track
position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Candidates
must hold a graduate degree in engineering and/or architecture and
have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, research
and/or creative practice that integrates structural design and
architecture. The successful candidate will teach required graduate
and undergraduate structures courses as well as advanced seminars.
The successful applicant must be committed to the Integration of the
structures curriculum into an architecture program. Teaching
experience, expertise in structures and architectural design,
professional registration, combined background in architecture and
engineering, and an established/ projected program of research are
desirable.
The Architecture Department is invested in four areas of research:
Inclusive Design, Material Culture, Situated Technologies, and
Sustainable Urban and Natural Environments, aligned with the larger
university research mission of “UB 2020” [www.buffalo.edu/ub2020/overview/] through a number of research centers in the Department:

other research centers within the University. Applicants who can
contribute to the advancement of teaching, research and creative
practice in structural design and architecture are encouraged to

The School of Architecture and Planning at the University at Buffalo is the only Unit in the State University of New York system that offers the fully accredited Master of Architecture degree. Architecture and Interaction Design
The Department of Architecture at the University at Buffalo is seeking candidates for a full-time, tenure/tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, to begin in 2009. Candidates must hold a graduate degree in Architecture, Interaction Design or Media Arts and Sciences and have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, research and/or creative practice that integrates architecture and interaction design. The successful candidae will teach required graduate and undergraduate architecture design studios, and advanced seminars and conduct research in their area of expertise. S/he will be committed to interdisciplinary research related to Architecture and Interaction Design.

The successful candidate’s research will align with the “Information and Computing Technology” strategic strength (http:// www.buffalo.edu/ub2020/strengths/ict.html) as well as research carried out at the Center for Virtual Architecture (CVA). The CVA’s research is located at the intersection of architecture, new media and computing.
