Structural Design

The Department of Architecture at the University at Buffalo, State
University of New York, is seeking applicants for tenure/tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Candidates must hold a terminal degree/s in architecture and/or engineering and have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, research and/or creative practice that integrates structural design and architecture. The successful candidate will teach required graduate and undergraduate structural design courses as well as advanced seminars. The successful applicant must be committed to the Integration of the teaching of structural design and studio education in the context of an architecture school. Teaching experience and expertise in architectural design, professional registration, and a combined background in architecture and engineering are desirable.


The Architecture Department is invested in four areas of research:
Inclusive Design, Material Culture, Situated Technologies, and
Sustainable Urban and Natural Environments, aligned with the larger university research mission of “UB 2020” [www.buffalo.edu/ub2020/overview/] through a number of research centers: [www.ap.buffalo.edu/architecture/research/index.asp].
