Professor Annette LeCuyer received her professional degree in architecture and a graduate diploma in architectural history from the Architectural Association in London. She is a licensed architect in the United Kingdom, where she worked for Foster Associates, Jeremy Dixon, and Allies and Morrison Architects. Her scholarly work focuses upon the integration of design and construction in contemporary architecture. She is author of Radical Tectonics and Steel and Beyond - New Strategies for Metals in Architecture, co-author of All-American: Innovation in American Architecture, a former editor of the Michigan Architecture Papers (MAP), and a contributor to architectural journals in Europe and North America. Awards include an AIA International Book Award for the MAP series and grants from the Graham Foundation, the Netherland-America Foundation, and the Consulate General of the Netherlands. In 2002, she was named an Arthur F. Thurnau Professor at the University of Michigan and taught at the University of Oregon as a Pietro Belluschi Distinguished Visiting Professor in Architectural Design.
