DMG Digital Workshop

The new Digital Workshop in the School of Architecture and Planning is located in Crosby Hall, room 52. It provides a range of the latest equipment dedicated to material research, model making and fabrication.

By providing this latest digital technology, as well as a new visualization laboratory in Hayes Hall and a fully equipped Materials and Methods Shop, the school expands the range of choices for students to visualize, fabricate and test their ideas that substantially expand their design skills and potential.

3D Printer

The 3-Dimensional SST printer manufactured by Stratasys makes it possible for students to build computer generated models up to 8 inches by 8 inches by 12 inches using ABS plastic, and provides them with capabilities in rapid prototyping.

 

Laser Cutter

The Digital Workshop includes a Universal Laser Systems X2-600 Laser Cutter which allows students to cut wood, acrylic, foam core and chip board and enables them to experiment with materials and fabricate models quickly and accurately.
