Awards
The department gives a series of annual awards and prizes to honor undergraduate student excellence. These include:
Dean’s Awards for Academic Performance to the continuing student (junior) with the highest grade point average
Award of Academic Excellence to the graduating senior with the highest grade point average
Chair’s Award for Excellence in Studio to the graduating senior who excelled in and contributed most to workshops and studios in the B.A.E.D. program
R. Buckminster Fuller Award (biannually) to the graduating senior who is continuing on for graduate studies in the School of Architecture and Planning and who exemplifies attributes of creativity, inventiveness, and intellectual excellence
The Department of Urban and Regional Planning gives a series of annual awards and prizes to honor graduate student excellence. These include:
Dean’s Awards for Academic Performance to the continuing student (first-year M.U.P.) with the highest grade point average
Award of Academic Excellence to the graduating student with the highest grade point average in the program
Best Thesis and Best Project awards to honor the highest level of achievement on culminating exercises
Ibrahim and Viviane Jammal Prize, a monetary prize for excellence in a thesis or project on a global or international topic
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Award, awarded by the Western New York division of the American Planning Association to a graduating student to recognize the highest promise for professional excellence
